Brazil Chapter news and thank you

Post by Aldo Zagonel » Wed Jul 29, 2015 4:26 pm

The Brazil Chapter held its Annual Meeting, and elections, during the ISDC 2015, in Cambridge --see Minutes attached.

We'd like to thank Marciano Morozowski for his zeal and dedication, during his tenure in the Chapter Policy Council (2012-2015), especially for his success as Chapter President, carrying out two important substantive meetings, in coordination with the event hosts João Arantes and Edmilson Moraes, respectively:

- the Web-Sim Fishbanks Simulation Lab, carried out with more than 100 participants (held at UNIFESP - Osasco Campus);
- the II Brazilian Symposium, with roughly 50 attendees (held at FEI University - São Paulo Campus).

Marciano continues his involvement as Program Chair for the III Brazilian Symposium (October 16), which received a total of 39 submissions, and includes a "Creating and Sustaining Client Interest" workshop featuring Karim Chichakly and Andrew Ford as instructors (October 17). To this end, Marciano could use our help, as reviewers for the full papers due August 28. If you'd like to join us in thanking Marciano, or wish to participate as a reviewer, please feel free to contact him directly at symposioDS@gmail.com.

We take the opportunity to also thank Érico Santos for his contributions to the Chapter PC (2013-2015), and to welcome our new Chapter PC members Edmilson Moraes and Rudolf Flunger.

On behalf of Paulo Nakamura, Karim Chichakly, Elias Carvalho and other leaders of the Brazil Chapter, our Muito Obrigado!
