The Society's E-mail address is changing. The University at Albany is upgrading the E-mail system. The new Society E-mail account address is <sds@csc.albany.edu>. The alias address <system.dynamics@albany.edu> will continue to work, but the E-mail account address that you may have saved in your address book of <sds@cnsvax.albany.edu> will be deactivated in February 2001. Please record this change and sorry for any inconvenience.
The Policy Council conducted a vote on proposed changes to the Bylaws. A letter and ballot were mailed out in mid-September. If you have not yet returned your original ballot, please mail it back as soon as possible as two-thirds of the Society's membership must vote to approve the changes.
Congratulations to the Japanese Chapter on its 10th anniversary. Dr. Shimada's early initiative has spawned the foundation of many other chapters throughout the world, which has in turn significantly advanced the growth of the field. The Japanese chapter is very active in disseminating system dynamics knowledge in Japan. Best wishes to the Japanese Chapter for continued success and future efforts to further promote the field of system dynamics in Japan.
