Dr. Saras Chung is an applied system dynamics researcher based out of St. Louis that is passionate about changing systems to foster thriving in children and youth. Currently, Saras serves as the Executive Director at SKIP Designed, an independent strategy tank that co-designs system-level strategies with educators, youth, parents, and community leaders to enhance educational equity in socio-economically challenged communities. Over the course of her practice and research, she has written on topics of system dynamics in national and peer-reviewed publications, have been consulted with major corporations on the system dynamics of social justice issues, and has advised over $20M of educational investments with partnering foundations using the feedback perspective.
Dr. Chung also serves on the instructional team for the Social System Design Lab at Washington University in St. Louis' course offerings in system dynamics and community-based system dynamics/group model building. Saras attained a Ph.D and master's degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis' Brown School of Social Work and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
