Short Description: This presentation addresses the disconnect between feedback structure of a system and its computable stock/flow model, which has lead to a separation between system thinking and system dynamics, also creating rather arbitrary explanations for the behavior of the system modeled. The presentation discusses how the two representations are related and how they should be connected in a formal computer model.
Biography: Khalid Saeed is Professor of Economics and System Dynamics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He works on applying system analysis to a variety of domains subsuming economics, public policy, healthcare and management. https://www.wpi.edu/people/faculty/saeed
