Web Based Tools

Tools on the web can be used on computers, phones and other internet devices.

Forio, from Forio Online Simulations, allows you to build web based interfaces to models you have developed and also provides a library of interactive environments for curious users to explore. The software is web hosted, with a commercial use license, but provides a number of options for low cost and no cost publication and proliferation of models and model results.

iMODELER Service, from Consideo, is a web based, collaborative modeling software for quantitative modeling (system dynamics, process modeling feat. theory of constraint) and qualitative modeling (beyond fuzzy cognitive maps) that allows for direct translation of CLDs into quantitative models. For qualitative modeling it’s freeware.

Insight Maker, from Insight Maker, from Gene Bellinger.

SHEETLESS from sheetless.io is an on-line, browser based, system dynamics tool (all latest browsers except MS-Edge). No install required. It is easy to use, has extensive documentation and has easy model sharing options. Is ideal for teaching. Sheetless is free for teaching purposes.

SIMLIN is a web-first System Dynamics modeling editor and engine. The goals are to lower the barrier to entry, widen the reach, and enable cross-pollination of System Dynamics.  Simlin is far from finished, but is usable today to construct stock and flow models, import models from other platforms, and download as XMILE at any time.

STELLA ONLINE from isee systems

BROADVIEW, Unravel, play, discover, decide and undertake. BROADVIEW helps to quickly get a complete overview of a complex situation.

CLD Tool from OST, the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, is an open source web app to create CLD diagrams effortlessly. It is tablet, pencil, touchscreen, and even smartphone ready and supports any effort to think in systems. Suitable for moderation, discussions, lectures, and the classroom.

Kumu is a tool that makes it easy to organize complex data into relationship maps that are beautiful to look at and a pleasure to use. The Kumu platform allows for stakeholder mapping, systems mapping, social network mapping, community asset mapping, and concept mapping.

sdCloud allows you to compute models in the cloud without any local setup, share models for feedback and to share findings. It provides a free and open cloud service to work with System Dynamics models.

SD Everywhere Using SDEverywhere, you can deploy interactive System Dynamics models in mobile, desktop, and web apps for policymakers and the general public. Or you could perform model analysis using general-purpose languages, running the model as high-performance C code.

Machinations is the ML prediction platform for complex, chaotic systems. It has developed a framework and visual language used to simulate, model, and analyze the mechanics of game systems, economic systems, and various other interactive systems. It brings simulations & predictive analytics to the fingertips of anyone designing and operating complex systems to boost forecast capabilities, reduce the likelihood of negative consequences, and exceed goals.
