Plans are progressing nicely for a successful conference in 2001. A confirmation agreement has been signed with the Emory Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This includes preliminary meeting specifications, meeting rooms, accommodations, meals, audio-visual and business services the conference center provides. The entire conference center will be occupied by the System Dynamics Society conference. The dates of the conference are July 23-27, 2001. An informal pre-conference meeting was held in November 1999 with a tour of the conference site.

The social programs will include a welcome reception and conference banquet. The venue for the banquet has not yet been determined, but options are being researched. It can be held on-site or outside of the Conference center.

A Preview Sheet with Call for Paper information will be available at the Norway conference.

A Meeting Network agreement has been signed with Delta Airlines. This will give conference attendees a 5% to 10% discount on airfares. The Society will earn one ticket for every 40 domestic flights booked with reference to our conference file number.

Conference Dates:

	August 2000 - hand out information at Norway Conference
	September 2000 - Deposit due Emory Conference Center (+/- $15,000)
	September/October 2000 - first mailing of call for papers
	January 15/February 1, 2001- deadline for abstracts
	February 2001 - send first registration/conference information brochure
	March 1, 2001 - Notification to authors
	April 15, 2001 - Deadline for full papers
	May 2001 - send updated registration and conference information brochure
	June 2001 - deadline for room reservations/penalty for cancellation
	July 23-27, 2001 - Conference in Atlanta
